The commission proposal was to design a landmark feature in the centre of Holyhead's Market Square.
Following extensive public consultation, the initial design for a contemorary sculpture was replaced with that of a more traditional Celtic Cross which incorperated elements of an exisiting cross on the same site.
It stands near to the entrance of the ancient church of St Cybi and on the site of an earlier, medieval Market Cross.
